What I Offer
I am a qualified Language practitioner with 30 years’ experience in enhancing written, spoken and listening communication skills as well as enhancing literary appreciation skills related to English and Afrikaans languages on secondary and tertiary levels of study.
- Private tutoring: Afrikaans Huistaal, – Eerste Addisionele Taal (Previous experience at/via various private and government schools in Johannesburg and Cape Town, such as SACS, RGHS, Reddam House, Herzlia, RBHS, Curro, Chesterhouse, El Shaddai, etc.). - Translating/Editing: English – Afrikaans. Afrikaans – English. Wide range of experience in all fields i.e. educational, business, financial, psychological, marketing, advertising, technical, etc. Presently: regular assignments from North West University (papers,lectures...). - Amanuensis: Amanuensis refers to the practice where I (the scribe) read the questions to a candidate and write down the candidate’s spoken words verbatim. A learner is considered for amanuensis when his/her writing ability prevents him/her from giving a true portrayal of his/her knowledge and/or competence. For more information see the Amanuensis page.
